Fremont Acura MDX drivers revel in luxury sound

And the Grammy goes to….Acura!? No, they don’t give out Grammys in a vehicle category, but if they did, Acura would be the favorite to take home the trophy. The reason? Grammy Award-winning recording engineer and producer Elliot Scheiner lent his audio authority to designing the Acura/ELS Surround Premium 10-speaker sound system.
The new sound system from Acura was designed to recreate music the exact way it is heard within a recording studio.
I remember my first car. It was a 1984 Chevy Citation II, and featured an AM-only radio with two speakers in the front, and none in the back. Clearly, that was unacceptable, so I bought a brand new sound system, replaced the front speakers, and even had a sub and some good new speakers put in the back. Of course, there wasn’t anywhere in the back to actually PUT the speakers, so they went in the trunk. If you wanted to actually hear the speakers that were back there, you had to pull down the back seat. Yes, my car was awesome as a high school senior. From that point on, I knew how important the sound system is in a car.
The Acura/ELS Surround Sound System was recognized by Edmunds.com as one of the top audio systems for luxury cars, and any Fremont Acura shoppers will have the option of installing the ELS system in their new Acuras.
Currently, on Acura’s website, consumers can view an interactive showroom that displays the virtues of the Acura/ELS system. The system pumps 410 watts of power out of 10 speakers and an 8-inch subwoofer that treats bass the way it’s meant to be heard.
I ventured to my local Fremont Acura dealership recently to hear this system inside of an Acura MDX. As you might expect, I was blown away. I’ve been in plenty of vehicles featuring the best from Bose, but there was something about the Acura/ELS sound that came across as more complete and crisp. If you’re shopping for an Acura, listen to how your new car can sound with this system before you sign on the dotted line.
