The MDX arrived on the luxury SUV scene in 2001 and has been impressing buyers ever since. Now, the updated 2010 model aims to become the very best luxury SUV out there, and it’s hit the target squarely. Starting $10,000 less than the BMW X5, the Acura MDX mixes affordability and luxury like no brand ever has in an SUV.
The technology available is far beyond what you can get outside of the luxury arena. Additions to the 2010 MDX include blind spot detection, swivel xenon headlamps, cooled and heated front seats, a six-speed automatic transmission, adaptive cruise control, and electronic damping.

Satellite radio is included and the GPS features the Zagat guide, making restaurant searching on road trips much more pleasant. The system allows independent rear and front sources as well. AV input jacks in the back let rear passengers choose their own pleasures.
The adaptive cruise control is a feature new to the auto industry that keeps the MDX a safe distance from traffic in front of it, meaning drivers need to intervene much less with braking.
The Acura MDX offers a range of entertainment and safety technologies that make it a very good option for families.
When I test drove one recently at an area San Mateo Acura MDX dealership, I was very impressed with how it performed. The top-of-the-line MDX puts you in the mid-fifties range on price. The BMW X5 I test drove as a comparably equipped model shot above $70k.
I anticipated the blind spot detection to be a bit of a nuisance in traffic like I’ve found on most cars with the technology, but the simple warning light was just the right amount of attention-getting technology.
The MDX will not disappoint, and what’s more, it will completely satisfy buyers unwilling to accept that one must pay more than $60,000 for top luxury.
